John Tenney came from Alstead, New Hampshire in March 1820 with his wife Sophia. He most likely built this house that stood in a picturesque setting on Blakslee Road. His daughter, Lucy Ann Tenney, married John Blakslee, Jr. The Tenney’s lived at the farm until 1872, and it then passed into the hands of others. The Blakslee family later acquired it, and operated it until the 1980's. It was the last dairy farm in Dalton. The house is no longer standing, being dismantled in 2013. |
